Hand crafted 1” genuine condenser capsule

Although the sE2200 is a cardioid-only microphone, two (instead of one) gold sputtered diaphragms are used to ensure the best possible acoustic performance. Built like the world's finest musical instruments, each capsule is handcrafted and individually tuned in our own factory in Shanghai - and unlike other backplate or electret microphones, the sE2200 has a true externally polarized condenser capsule and therefore delivers the best possible performance in every aspect.

Traditional Class-A electronic design

The carefully selected, discrete components ensure brilliant sound quality from any source. The design of the sE2200 still avoids the use of ICs (integrated circuits) and is built to excel - not to a standard. Low noise, consistent performance and high sensitivity are provided by state-of-the-art surface-mount electronic components with extremely close tolerances.

Two switchable damping levels

The -10 dB and -20 dB pad switches provide greater dynamic range, allowing a wide range of applications and close-mic techniques for even the loudest instruments... think super-heavy electric guitars, fortissimo brass and heavy-footed kick drums.

Custom made output transformer

Revitalizing the spirit of classic studio microphones, the sE2200's custom transformer provides excellent depth and weight to the overall sonic image, and the massively shielded metal housing ensures noise-free operation.

Two switchable low-cut filters

These two filters can be selected at 80Hz or 160Hz and help eliminate low-frequency rumble or footstep noise, and help compensate for excessive bass (proximity effect) with close-mic techniques.

Full metal housing and vintage finish

Unlike the cheaply constructed housing of some other affordable microphones, the sE2200's all-metal chassis provides efficient suppression of electrical interference and noise - and the high-quality vintage finish ensures a great look for years to come.

Standard accessories

The sE2200 also comes with sE's Isolation Pack, consisting of a custom shock mount, integrated pop filter and a threaded adapter that fits any microphone stand.

The insulation package

For situations where more rumble control and 'plosive protection is desired, this bundle also includes sE's Isolation Pack. The quick release mechanism on the bottom of this shock mount makes it easy to insert and remove a microphone - no screws, no fuss, just one turn to tighten or loosen. And the integrated metal pop filter can be positioned vertically to accommodate any compatible microphone, or completely removed from the shock mount if desired.
