Marcus Miller V7+ models are the new industry standard for affordably priced, high-quality J-type bass guitars.
Jazz bass type is the industry standard bass model with its signature vintage sound. This is an all-round bass that is suitable for fingering, slap and all techniques and playing styles. With both classic and modern feel and design, this new bass can produce the sound you want for all genres of music.
Marcus Miller basses are made from the highest quality materials in his range.
Swamp Ash body
Premium Swamp Ash tonewoods are usually found in more expensive instruments. Swamp Ash tonewoods are known to produce a well-balanced tone. It's very resonant and offers a nice balance between pleasant highs, solid lows and a slightly scooped midrange that's great for slap playing. The characteristics of this wood allow players to emulate Marcus Miller's tone one step further.
Bone nut
The nut is one of the most important parts of the guitar that affects the performance, playability and tone of the instrument. Depending on the quality of the material and its elasticity, the nut can improve or worsen the sound. Although the bone nut is more expensive and difficult to work with, it is believed to deliver more balanced, brighter and softer tones than plastic or other materials.
Maple fingerboard
Maple fingerboards deliver bright highs and sharpness in tone. The bright and pure sound of a maple fingerboard is desired by many players.
Marcus Heavy Mass Bridge
Marcus Miller SIRE V7 bass is equipped with the newly designed Marcus Heavy Mass Standard Bridge that was specially developed at the request of Marcus Miller. This bridge has features of a vintage jazz bass but with heavy mass saddles, giving the bass a rich and punchy sound. The new Marcus Heavy Mass Standard Bridge is a string-through body bridge mechanism that enables a tighter, more accurate and more stable tone.
Round fretboard edges
A real custom shop function
We've taken the overall playability to the next level with the rolled fingerboard edges. What only custom shops can achieve is now available in the Sire 2nd Gen series. These rounded edges give players a firmer and more natural grip compared to typical fretboards. We were well aware of the difficulties we would encounter in our ambition to apply rolled fretboard edges in a mass production factory. Together with the production team, we worked tirelessly to make this theory a reality. This was quite a challenge, almost an impossible mission. We have made several adjustments to the production process and even introduced a new machine. Since our Sire basses also have bindings, this was an extremely challenging one, far beyond our imagination. But in the end we found the answers and we are ecstatic to present the Rolled Fretboard Edges in all our 2nd generation models.
Marcus Super-J Revolution pickups
We changed the magnetization method of the Alnico Magnet to produce the similar aging sound of a 20 year old Heavy Formvar Pickup. We changed the coil to Plain Enamel and installed a program in a coil winding machine that allowed us to achieve almost the same speed and winding transition angle as the handmade winding. We decided to call this pickup technology "Revolution Pickup Technology".
Marcus Heritage-3 preamplifier
SIRE's unique preamp system is a perfect example that represents our technology and philosophy integrated into our instruments. With multiple tone controls, players have complete control to achieve the perfect tone they want. By using 18v batteries, the player can achieve unaltered natural sounds with strong and powerful outputs. With the 3-band EQ, players are able to perform versatility in sounds suitable for all music sessions and performances. All models are built with the option of both active and passive modes. Even in passive mode, the volume, tone and pickup balancer are fully functional, giving players greater control over the tone in each mode.
